Indianapolis Rockitbomb Shows

The Rest of your July can Rock!

So there are a ton of shows coming up, some of which you probably already know about, but some I pretty stoked about, or at least should be.

Here they are in chronological order, also, you can check out the RockitBomb show calendar here:

Kenny Chesney is playing tomorrow night at Verizon Wireless Music Center. I highly recommend you stay home and watch TV.

Friday night, July 13th, however, I recommend you head over the Melody Inn to see The Prids, Shadeland, Eisenhower Field Day, and Hey Hey Melodica. I heard the Prids on an internet radio station on accident one night, and I was pretty taken with them. Imagine really driving Joy Division-esque goth rock being fronted by Richard Butler of Psychedelic Furs fame. Hey Hey Melodica is also a pretty solid band, with a lot of unique instrumentation.

Saturday Night, the 14th you can catch a bunch of bands I have never heard of at Local’s Only: thesociety, Serebro, and Wussy and the Fervor. Serebro is a pretty awesome name.

Sunday you can try to catch Bob Dylan.

Wednesday, July 18th at Birdy’s we have Tokyo Police Club, Dappled Cities and Indianapolis’s Those Young Lions.

Sleep in the parking lot of Birdy’s Wednesday night to make sure you get in to dance to VHS or Beta Thursday night.

If you’re into some grunge, Nickelback, Staind, and Daughtry will be rocking off your goatee at Verizon Wireless Music Center.

To wrap up next week, you can go see Erykah Badu at Indy’s Black Expo. A lot of people are pretty stoked about this, so you should probably be too!

The week after than is awesome too, with The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band on Monday at the Vogue, some guy I’m not into named Jimmy Buffett on Tuesday at VWC, ZZ Top and the Stray Cats on Thursday (Awesome!) and Incubus and The Bravery on Saturday.

And of course, wrapping up July is Interpol at the Murat Egyptian Room on July 31st.

If you think July rocks, wait until you see August!
