Amiina, amazing icelandic quartet to play Radio Radio

From LiveNation’s Press Release:

“”Amiina is most well known for their role as the accompanying musicians for fellow Icelandic band Sigur Ros’s 2005-2006 tour and for their contributions to Sigur Ros’s ( ) and Takk albums. But before they were the four beautiful women creating the ethereal soundscapes for Sigur Ros, they were students at Iceland’s Reykjavík’s College of Music. They played music in the school orchestra and refer to that experience as the main inspiration for the music they compose today.

Kurr, amiina’s debut album, named after the sound that birds are said to make in Iceland, makes use of a superfluity of instruments, including everything from violins, guitars and keyboards to wine glasses, bells, metalophones, Celtic harps, water glasses, musical saws, glockenspiels and kalimbas. “”

Seriously, go to this show. I saw Amina open for Sigur Ros last year and they where by far one of the most mesmerizing and interesting group ofmusicians that I have seen.
