Who is your Doctor?

Well, the “Day of the Doctor” snuck up on me last week. It’s quite incredible that a show fifty years old is still going so strong. I have only recently started watching, despite my father showing it to me during David Tennant’s tenure and telling me I should. If I had a T.A.R.D.I.S. I’d try to fix that.

Earlier this year I decided it was time and hit the Netflix queue. Much to my surprise I was met by this random guy in a leather jacket, and not the pin strip suit wearing guy. I had no idea what I was watching, but I kept on, and fell in love.

I don’t know why no one else believes this, but having just finished the Tennant run, I still hold solid that Chris Eccleston was an absolutely fantastic doctor. I loved that first season, I still do, and I get why people love the tenth doctor, but I often pine for the ninth. I searched through some old emails and found one from Warren Ellis’s Bad Signal talking about how great he was, so I feel somewhat vindicated. I have friends who have skipped that season, and they are fools.

So now, I find myself really wanting to watch Day of The Doctor, but holding steady until I can catch up with the rest of the world. If you haven’t watched Doctor Who, please rectify that and enjoy this guy, and please – no spoilers.

This is my first post in a while, mostly because I have been spending time watching awesome shows, playing music, making games and comics, and working with awesome people, but fifty years of Doctor Who is worth writing something up to say “Happy Anniversary” and “Thanks, BBC.”

Who is your favorite Doctor?

The Henchmen Team Is Celebrating Free Comic Book Day!

fcbdThis Saturday (May 4th 2013) is Free Comic Book Day, and the team behind Henchmen has decided to give anyone on our email list a free preview of issue one (this was previously only available to KickStarter backers).

If you missed out on that, be sure to jump over and sign up today!

Free Comic Book Day is a single day – the first Saturday in May each year – when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE* to anyone who comes into their stores. *Check with your local comic book shop for their participation and rules.

Be sure to check it out this Saturday by finding a shop near you with their handy store locator. I’ll be stopping by one of my favorite Downtown Comics locations for sure!

The book is coming along very well, by the way – expect to see a lot of updates coming through in the coming weeks. I am super excited for everyone to see the book. Thanks again to everyone for reading, backing, and sharing our KickStarter project, and even helping us overfund and go color!

Be sure to subscribe, retweet our tweets, like our Facebook statuses, forward to friends, call your friends, print out the site and fax it to your friends, and generally do all you can to let people know that they’ll love it!

Henchmen KickStarter is Live

I’ve been working on a comic book called Henchmen – we launched our KickStarter on March 1st, and things are off to a great start – please check it out and spread the word!

Henchmen is the story of Gary, an office supply salesman that loses his job and stumbles across a mysterious classified ad.

Henchmen is coming.

@jjraygun filming the @henchmencomic kickstarter video with @indydandark @raidiousI posted recently about a comic book that I am working on. I am excited to post that things are moving along fantastically! We’ve selected Ryan Howe as our artist, and this week Jamison and I got in front of a camera for a video interview for our imminent KickStarter launch. Twitter accounts, Facebook pages, and websites have all been launched – expect lots of things happening very quickly.

We kick off our campaign on March 1st! The book is called Henchmen, and it tells the story of Gary, a regular guy who finds himself without a job. He is lucky to find a new one, but finds out quickly that his new profession requires a different set of skills.
