My 7-year-old son and I put together the LEGO X-Wing, and made a time-lapse with my GoPro Hero 2. The music is “Right Left Right” from the album “Wildfire” by Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun, a great band from Atlanta. I’ve been fortunate enough to see them a few times, and they were gracious enough to let us use their song. Like them on Facebook at facebook.com/todaythemoon.
This was a really great project. Looking back I wish I would have paid better attention to my camera placement, but that this project was meant to be a learning experience. It was quick and also my first experience using Adobe Premiere in quite a long time.
Thanks again to Today the Moon Tomorrow the Sun for use of the song – it fit exactly and goes along with the video quite nicely.
Here are today’s photos – the lead comes from Indianapolis’s Claddagh, an irish pub that my family enjoyed a late lunch at today.
My second photo from today comes from the iOS game, Letterpress. Letterpress is yet another word based game that I am terrible at, but I do find it amusing that I keep finding words like “Nazgul, Bobafett, and Morpheus” instead of playable words.
Speaking of jobs, I am happy to announce that my day-to-day role at Raidious is shifting from Operations to Technology. The leadership team at Raidious continues to expand, and I am excited to have a new area of the business to focus on! 2013 is going to be a revolutionary year for our company, and I am excited to be building some innovative new tools for audience building.
2012 was a good year for music as well. Last year I joined up with some good friends to start a new music project, dubbed Conjurer. It’s slow, heavy, and loud. We just finished a recording and have been playing in Indy. Be sure to like us on Facebook and come out to see us if you are a fan. I also had the privilege of doing a weekend tour with Autobody.
I’ve never been a big fan of new years resolutions, so I will announce a couple of 2013 plans instead. Things to look out for:
Conjurer Demo – This thing should be wrapped up super soon.
Henchman – a new comic book project that I have been working on with my high school friend, Jamison Raymond.
Other stuff – I’m not sure yet, but I am hoping to get around to another project in my loose idea folder this year – stay tuned!
As far as the rest of the world goes, Google did the best job recapping a pretty incredible year in the world. I leave you with their Zeitgeist video for 2012
I’d like to share this post I did over at Raidious.com. Read the full article there for some background on the graphic I put together for a post last week. It was a fun post, and a cool way to get a tour of our office.
This is the first video I've created with my new GoPro Hero 2 HD. Essentially I set up the camera on the window with the suction mount while my son and his cousins played on a Sunday afternoon. I dropped the footage in, sped it up, dropped in a generic iMovie jingle, and this little gem popped out. I like it and I hope you do too.
