This is the first video I've created with my new GoPro Hero 2 HD. Essentially I set up the camera on the window with the suction mount while my son and his cousins played on a Sunday afternoon. I dropped the footage in, sped it up, dropped in a generic iMovie jingle, and this little gem popped out. I like it and I hope you do too.

Thanks to Downtown Comics in Indianapolis, and Dodge from MOKB's ability to purchase comics, I was able to catch Tron: Legacy in 3D at the Indianapolis State Museum's iMax Theatre Monday night.

Thanks to Downtown Comics in Indianapolis, and Dodge from MOKB’s ability to purchase comics, I was able to catch Tron Legacy in 3D at the Indianapolis State Museum’s iMax Theatre Monday night.

I must say, it was a worthwhile experience. I definitely recommend watching the original before you go, as the film is not only full of eye candy and epic action, but nods to the original film as well. The plot is what you’d expect from the trailers, and not much more, but I left wanting more; which tells me Disney has definitely set Tron up for a new franchise.

My only criticism is the Jeff Bridges CGI. I’ll try to not to spoil anything – let’s just say that sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t.

As I mentioned, it is worth seeing at the iMax if you can. This was the first feature I’ve enjoyed in that experience, and I’ll look to do it again. The 3D in the film is tasteful and enveloping, and helps bring the viewer into the new, updated world of The Grid.

The Indianapolis State Museum iMax is raffling off a working vintage Tron arcade game as well during the run, so be sure to enter the contest, and throw a big Tron themed party if you win.

A quick post about all of the awesome that was this weekend. Check it out for a video of Today The Moon Tomorrow The Sun from The Indieana Handicraft Exchange.

This weekend was a blast. My son went to Grandma and Grandpa’s for the weekend, while Jen and had a busy weekend full of the fun work.

The video above is of Today The Moon Tomorrow The Sun playing at The Indieana Handicraft Exchange. TTMTTS is an insanely great band from Atlanta Georgia, playing at an insanely great event that Amanda and Neal Taflinger helm. Thin Fevers was fortunate enough to get to share a bill with them later that night at Local’s Only to an unfortunately small crowd. However, those in attendance left with melted eye-balls à la Raiders of the Lost Ark – if you ever have a chance to see this band, do.

Day two of the Handicraft Exchange was equally as fun – EleanorMac did very well, and while Jen was selling, I was busy buying from Mike Altman, Clinton Reno, and some other vendors.

All in all, a great weekend.

I pledged 25 dollars tonight to back a documentary being made about LaPorte Indiana based on the book called... LaPorte Indiana.

I just pledged 25 dollars to help fund a documentary on LaPorte, Indiana – this documentary is the story of some of the people featured in the book of the same name (I picked this up for my wife as a gift). The book is really cool and features portraits of the residents of LaPorte Indiana from the past.

From their KickStarter page:

The feature documentary film, LaPorte, Indiana will bring these Frank Pease photographs to life, sharing the vivid stories which create this tight-knit American community.

Emmy-nominated editor and first-time Director, Joe Beshenkovsky, was equally taken by these photos and understood that the story of an entire town rested in those twenty-two boxes. We soon travelled to Indiana in search of these personalities, to learn how their lives unfolded some forty years after their portrait was snapped.

Here is the trailer for the film:

LaPorte, Indiana Trailer from Joe Beshenkovsky & Jason Bitner on Vimeo.

Looks like a pretty great project to get involved with.

J. Abram’s upcoming take on Alan Moore’s Watchmen yesterday. The movie is slated for a 3//6/09 release date.I am beyond excited about this movie. These photos have pushed me over the edge. I re-read a good chunk of the book when Lost started up again, and remembered how great of a book it is.If you haven’t read it, do it. You will be glad you did.More PhotosWikipedia Entry on Watchmen

I am trying to regain some cred from my previous post. Radiohead tour dates = cred.

Radiohead has announced some upcoming US Tour dates!

http://www.radiohead.com/tourdates/

According to this site, they are coming to Indianpolis, which would make me very happy.

I can only hope this helps me regain some cred.
